Core Responsibilities

🤖

Robot Design & Assembly

Guide students through mechanical assembly, motor control integration, and sensor implementation.

Mentor students in CAD design using Onshape or Fusion 360
Support mechanical assembly and troubleshooting
Teach motor control and actuator integration
Guide sensor selection and implementation

Programming & Software

Develop autonomous and tele-op code using Java and the FTC SDK with best practices.

Teach Java programming fundamentals and FTC SDK
Guide development of autonomous routines
Support tele-op control programming
Implement computer vision and sensor integration
🛠️

Development Tools

Provide expertise with professional development tools and version control systems.

Set up and maintain GitHub repositories
Teach version control best practices
Guide IDE setup and debugging techniques
Support continuous integration workflows

Testing & Competition Prep

Establish testing protocols and prepare students for technical judging.

Design and conduct robot testing sessions
Lead debugging and troubleshooting workshops
Organize driving practice routines
Prepare students for technical presentations

🎓

Education & Experience

University-level knowledge in Computer Science, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
Hands-on experience in FTC, FRC, VEX, or university robotics club
Previous mentoring or teaching experience preferred
Industry experience in robotics or automation (bonus)

Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in Java programming
Understanding of basic electronics and circuit design
Familiarity with CAD software (Onshape, Fusion 360, SolidWorks)
Experience with Git/GitHub version control
